Get ready to welcome 2026 with joy! The Hong Kong Tourism Board announces that this year's New Year's Eve countdown event will be held at the Pedestrian Precinct in Central Chater Road, combining live performances by singers and stunning lighting effects to present a brand-new experience. Eight building facades participating in 'Projected in Central' will feature a giant countdown clock and light patterns, joining the audience in the countdown and presenting a three-minute projection show to step into the new year.
The New Year's Eve countdown event will take place from 11:30 pm on December 31, 2025, to 12:10 am on January 1, 2026. The world-renowned duo, Air Supply, will take the stage, along with local singers Jay Fung and Wan Hoi Ying. A children's choir and the Police Silver Band will also join the celebration.
The eight building facades participating in 'Projected in Central' will display a giant countdown clock and light patterns, counting down with the audience and presenting a three-minute projection show themed 'New Hope, New Beginning' to send blessings to the audience on-site and worldwide as we step into the new year. The countdown event is fully supported by the partner of 'Winterfest Central', the Hongkong Land.
Chater Garden and Edinburgh Place in Central will feature large screens to broadcast the live countdown event, while the exterior wall of the Tsim Sha Tsui Cultural Centre will project a live screening of the celebration. The glass walls of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai will display a giant countdown clock, allowing everyone to count down to midnight and welcome the new year.
You can also watch the live broadcast on the Hong Kong Tourism Board's website DiscoverHongKong.com, social media platforms Facebook and YouTube, ViuTV Channel 99 and ViuTV website and app, TVB Channel 81, HOY TV Channel 77, RTHK TV 32, and RTHK website and app. The Hong Kong Tourism Board will simultaneously broadcast the event live via satellite to audiences worldwide, allowing everyone to count down to 2026 together.
